Re: Hispanic Internet Market

We're working with some Hispanic-based prospects
(not clients yet) and the overall story seems to be
this:

During the 1990's, when everything and everyone was
high on the economy, "mainstream" media rates went
through the roof. This had the effect of pricing
many advertisers and marketers out of the mainstream
media market. Latin media, which is traditionally less
expensive, started to look like a good alternative.

For a few years, entrepreneurs saw the opportunity and
funded Latin-based start-ups, which prospered -- until
the bubble burst. Then -- you guessed it -- "mainstream"
media dropped their rates to lure back advertisers,
which deflated the Latin market.

Today, the Latin market is even larger and still offers
huge potential.
