Google Ad Words Select

I've been using Google Adwords Select CPC program with a
few clients, and have found that overall - cost is
netting out to about the same, if not slightly higher
than Overture on a CPC basis. Your experienced
click-through rates will of course vary widely by the
type of offer (e.g. B2C or B2B), the vertical and the
strength of you offer and ad copy, but in general terms -
I've found click-through rates for high traffic and
relevant terms for B2B offers at around 1% to 3%.
Again, the actual click-through rate is less important
than your cost per click (CPC) rate. What makes
Google a more expensive option than other PPC search
sites is their minimum threshold on click-throughs - but
if you know who your target audience is and can develop
good relevant ad copy with a meaningful offer - then that
becomes less of an issue.
