I-Bill

I'm pretty sure it was I-Bill I was forced to use as a
consumer, not as a business owner, so my experience is
consumer-based, but negative.

I wanted to stop being a paying member of the site I was
using, and was frustrated to find no place to quit ... it
took at least 15 minutes to read all the text and find out
I had to go to "a site" called I-Bill ... I can't remember
if they had a direct link or not ... but my memory is
that they DID have a direct link, but once you get there ...
again, no information on stopping the membership.
I remember thinking, "Why am I here, on this site? Who is
this?"

I remember giving up my attempt to quit this membership for
about two weeks, then going back, ending up again at I-Bill,
and writing to their web-address and threatening to contact
the attorney general of my state if I didn't get out of my
membership with their client.

At that point, both the client and I-Bill responded.

I use the internet all the time, and although not a web site
development expert, certainly have purchased product,
memberships and subscriptions on-line. Never have I had
this experience. I would think for a long time about making
it so difficult for your end users to opt-out of anything ...
if you do use it, make sure both your site and I-Bill make it
REALLY obvious how to opt-out ... My experience left a very
bad impression about both I-Bill and the original company I
was a member of.

Sincerely,

Deborah Wallis
