One time vs. Recurring Billing

From: Thomas Carreno <thomas_at_warmfeelings.com>

Online monthly or yearly subscriptions seem to be pretty
'hot' lately as a compliment to traditional online
advertising methods.

And so I am curious about opinions on the following points:

1. What is a better business model, one time billing or
automatic recurring billing? What do customers prefer, and
does either one reflect more negatively or positively on
your business?

2. Is there a time frame that is most favorable and why?
Monthly or Quarterly or Yearly Billing?

Looking forward to hearing your opinions!

Cheers.
