Marco,

The point I was trying to make is that I WILL NOT use an X10 solution
unless I had no other choice. The reason is because of that $#%! popup ad.

I am tired of having to close 5 or more pop ups when I want to close my
browser. The internet was going along just fine without all the
advertising for many years. Granted (as I said in my original posts) I
am probably not the typical internet user anymore. I am looking for
news, information and to a lesser degree, entertainment. I don't really
let my buying habits be determined by advertising. At the most I will
note an ad as a piece of information and go on. if I have a need for
that product, AND, it is the best of it's type. I might try it. X10
fails in that reguard, IMHO, because they have moved from informational
to annoying.

I am not afried of going to google and seeing what products are
available that way...no advertising needed beyond search engin
placement. it is the sheep of this world that the advertisers are
trying to hook, I am not a sheep.

Those websites I go to better have the information readly available if I
am to return. if I want to buy somthing, have clear links and a quick
layout. fancy ads are not needed imho.

that goes to website layout as well. if webmasters would stick as close
to standards as possible and not use the fancy, proprietory tags taht
are used way to often, then the layouts would not need to be as complex.
If you REALLY do need to use features that behave diffrently depending
on the browser, then use one of the many detection schemes and code your
web pages appropriatly. web bugs are not needed for anything but
marketing research.
