Re: Online Advertising Strategies & Tactics
Damon,
Target, target, target. It's great to be listed on search engines as
long as people are looking specifically for what you're selling. But
they may not even know they need/want your product -- you might have to
tell them!
Therefore, it is essential that you target the exact people that will
buy your products. You do this by advertising in the publications they
read, writing articles for sites they visit, and doing a lot of
networking in discussion groups. (You don't join them to advertise; you
join them to build relationships with people who might know someone who
knows someone -- just like you would do offline. And also to learn, just
like you're doing here.)
I've read that emailing people is as effective as direct mail is.
Problem is, you can't spam. If you choose to do this, and don't have
your own customer/prospect list of people interested (i.e. your
newsletter subscribers), proceed CAREFULLY or you will upset people.
Make sure the lists you rent or buy are double opt-in and from a
reputable broker.
Good luck and let us know how it turns out!
Regards,
Linda
