Try www.nua.com for all kinds of statistics and market research
data.

Also, Nielsen/NetRatings (www.netratings.com) publishes weekly
data on the Internet population; you can find historical data by
browsing through the company's press release archives. Both
NetRatings and AdRelevence (which was recently bought by
NetRatings) report on the top advertisers and the largest online
campaigns. The Internet Advertising Bureau (www.iab.net) should
also have some fairly recent data concerning various aspects of
the types of online advertising being run
