I realize spam is a dirty word to many of you die-hard e-mail marketers,
but I get way too much of it and I'm afraid to open it, even with virus
protection. Therefore, I can't tell the sender, even if they give you
an option, to take me off their list.
I block them all, but all that does is move them from one part of my
message software to another.
Is there (gulp, forgive me) any software out there that will bounce back
these porn, mortgage, loan and stock sales ads back to to the sender and
show me as a "unadressable e-mail" so I can get off these lists? I
spend a lot of time each day responding to what I think is going to be a
legitimate e-mail from a client, only to get this spam. I have plenty
of e-mail advertising from genuine vendors like Amazon, Brooks Brothers,
etc. that I do like ... I'm trying to prevent the trash from getting
through.
Also, has anyone been getting a spam-a-week from some guy with a virus
and an attachment? The interesting thing about him is that on another
e-mail software program someone ELSE is supposedly sending a "FIX" for
this guy's virus ... sounds suspicious to me ... as if he's trying to
double-whammy us and give us a virus on two fronts... how would some
e-mail solicitor know that "I" am receiving messages with viruses from
person 1, in order to send me a fix? Sounds diabolical.
Any response would be appreicated.
