The best way I have found to deal with spam is to stop it at your ISP or web
hosting company. This is a little more technical and requires access to the
server in some way.

If your provider/web host is linux based and you have access to the procmail
application then you have several filtering options. The best one I have
found so far is called SpamAssassin

www.spamassassin.org

It has cut our spam by about 85-90 % and a very small false positive rate
(non spam being marked as spam). the filters are pretty good, but the
spammers are a moving target, I could close that even more but there is the
risk of increasing the false positive rate.
