Hi Tara, I'm an inveterate lurker myself, I've been lurking on
this list for some time. Anyway...

If you want to place an advert ("Sponsored Links") on AOL
search then you now need to pay Google for an advert.

If you want a normal listing ("Matching Sites") on AOL search,
then you need to make sure that your site is listed in the
Google search engine (which is free).

I've found a basic article on how search engines work:

which explains terms like spidering and so on.
