Mobile Advertising - Actual Opt-in Rate to SMS

I run a North American free SMS website (http://www.birdsms.com) and thought
I'd provide actual data that I'm experiencing in terms of the willingness
for online users of SMS to opt-in to receive ads. In exchange for the
ability to send 10 free SMS from a PC each month, I require my unpaid users
to opt-in to receive third party email offers (not sent more than once a
month currently). I also provide them the option to opt-in to receive SMS
offers and e-coupons (note these are Canadian and US users only) with the
following wording:

"Please send relevant offers and e-coupons to my wireless device at the
following number: ________"

My opt-in rate for SMS vs those who opted in to my email database by default
of using my free service is 4.4%. I was actually projecting only a 1%
opt-in rate for SMS relative to email, so this was encouraging to me, but
I'll let the group draw their own conclusions.
