Re: Pop ups are here to stay

Jonas' message concluded with appropriate
comments that apply to all well thought out
advertising campaigns:

Use the right placement;

Use good creative and a good offer;

Target your prospects as accurately
as possible;

Make your ads relevant to your prospects.

I submit that the same attention to details will
produce a higher than average response when
employed with conventional banners or any of
the IAB boxes or sidebars.

Granted, a pop-up draws attention away
from the content in a very intrusive manner.
How intrusive is always in the eye of the
beholder. I personally don't like pop-ups.

I do believe that advertisers will move away
from pop-ups for bread and butter promotions
as better options become available. Ad
technologies for the Internet is still evolving.

My two cents worth.
