Hello Ryan. We are all aware that the most web sites
are over-saturated with banners and buttons. Because
of that, many people developed skills in ignoring
them. If advertising industry wants to have success in
Internet advertising they have to invent some new ways
of advertising that will be much more effective. You
could see on Yahoo mail ad for selling cars. It is not
an usual ad it is more like a mini home page. When you
come with the cursors across some car maker you will
see some mouseover effect. This way ads become
interactive.

Also, there are companies which offer audio banners.

You can see on some news sites like News.com large
squared banners embedded in text. There are new
standards in banners size.

I think that the bottom line in future advertising
will be a web site an ad personalization. You can see
it these days, too. Different visitors will see
different ads. This way ads can have a better
click-thhru-ratio.
