Re: Overture & AutoBidding
Hey Dave,
If I had to replace Overture for clients currently I would do one of two
things. Either use adwords or Premium Sponsorships on Google, or optimize
their site to generate more traffic from other major search engines.
In looking at your site I have a few suggestions for you:
1) You need to change your approach to Overture. You're listed on some
fairly targeted keywords, but they're all pretty expensive. There are many
other niche keywords that may be more targeted for you that you don't seem
to have considered.
2) Some of your titles and descriptions definitely could bear reworking.
3) You might consider a buy on Google, either adwords or premium
sponsorships, depending on your budget, but here again, you're going to
suffer from your keyword/title/description selection. You can't afford to
compete in any meaningful way with the online casinos so targeting the same
keywords is futile. You need to think outside the obvious keywords to get
better results. Same thing with Find What or any other PPC engine.
4) You need to optimize your site to get better placement across ALL search
engines. There is definitely some work you could do to make your site more
attractive to spiders.
5) Check out what your nearest land based competitor is doing with their
Overture buy. You might want to review their approach and adapt it to your
site.
There are also some other marketing approaches that work very well for land
based casinos that have served your competitors well. Some examples would be
email marketing, cross promotions, partnerships, etc. but you may have
already considered this.
At the end of the day search engine traffic has proven to be the most
effective in gaining targeted prospects. Remember by doing a search on your
keywords and clicking through to your site these prospects are already
pre-qualifying themselves. Now all you have to do is sell them your product.
Hope that helps.
Mary :)
