Re: what is permission

This whole 'permission' buzzword is nothing more than presenting
relationship fostering and responsible business practices from a new
viewpoint. If you have an existing relationship, you have implied
permissions - such as with your current customers. This extends offline as
well to mail or even brick-and-mortar businesses. And its really a matter of
being responsible and respecting the wishes of the customer. If they are not
customers, well then its your job to market to them in other means to make
them customers. Obtain that relationship by getting consent and 'permission'
to contact them. Then foster that communication-based relationship to become
a transaction-based one where they are buying.
