Google's Targets vs Overture's Targets
A while ago I've had an interesting argument
with a very respected colleague of mine. He
did not agree with me, so I've decided to share
it with you all.
I'm conducting the promotion of a few commercial
websites, using the Overture and Google bidding
systems.
What I've noticed is this:
The younger the target market of my clients, the
higher the ROI they get on Google. The older the
target market, the higher the ROI on Overture.
For example, my insurance and medical equipment
clients receive a higher conversion rate as a result
of the traffic they get from Overture than from Google;
Yet my software, music and sun glasses clients get
a higher conversion rate from Google.
Well, in fact it's not the ROI on Overture... With all
the respect, Overture is mainly the connection to the
Yahoo (and others) search engine. It's between
Google and Yahoo.
So what I'm saying is that in my opinion, the average
users on Google are younger than the average users
on Yahoo. I can't say exactly why, there may be many
reasons for this.
I know many of you have tried Google and Overture
bidding systems, so I'm very curious to know if any
of you share the same opinion.
