I appreciate the comments. The site URL is fine it refers to the fact that
New York is a city in New York state. The search engines don't have problems
with this type of repetition.
The article that Chuck directed me to was information I already knew, but it
was good to confirm what I had learned previously. Actually, the new Google
algorithm is of benefit to my sites. If you do a search using "allinarchor:
keyword" on Google you can see sites ranked based on the keywords used from
links. My sites appear much better ranked when the linking text algorithm is
used.
Has anyone ever suffered pr0 penalty? How did you recover? I didn't suffer
this type of penalty but it seems that my original cross-linking strategy
has devalued my sites' pages and it is similar to the effects of being
penalized.
