Lycos ethics

Hello there..I am still trying to get my web pages noticed and the more
I learn the more frustrated I get...

Newest example from a beginner.

I signed up for 1 year with lycos who I thought would not only crawl my
sites but guaranteed inclusion on their search engine. I have 3 web
page sites: www.agiftgallery.com; www.exclusivelydesigned.com and
www.kids.exclusivelydeisgned.com

I created the exclusively designed web pages to try to get on search
engines since the agiftgallery is a database driven site the automated
software I was using and even manual submissions were not being
picked-up by any of the major search engines.

The exclusively designed web pages link back to a gift gallery for
ordering purposes. Lycos has dropped me off their search engine saying
my site was designed just to link to some place else. They refuse to
refund my money...

Any comments...suggestions...???

I have signed up with verisign and position technologies to try to get
listed on some of the search engines.

I would appreciate any feedback. I am clueless at this point.
