Re: Your take on the new IAB Standards

wow, i can't believe it...the death of the 468x60? c'mon, it will NEVER
happen! there's just too much invested at this point...don't get me wrong,
i'm all for the new standards and the growth of the industry as a whole. but
i still think there's still a lot of room for growth for 468x60's. yes,
because good executions with strong messages and killer creative can still
see CTR of over 2-4% with a simple animated gif. it's not the norm, but it
can be done. we've done it...

so rather than trying to kill the 468x60, maybe we should've tried to revive
it? tried to be more creative, innovative...but what's done is done...maybe
there's no room for it in the new ad standards, but...

every single day i see another example of *creativity* in the 468x60 format.
not just flash and expandable banners either. truth is we've only scratched
the surface of what we can creatively do with that size. personally i find
it challenging to create something on target and engaging at 468x60 and
extremely rewarding to succeed. and since it's not going anywhere soon, i'll
keep designing with that in mind...

it's not just about the ad size...it's about placement and optimization and
control and creativity.

and whoever said "...virtually no one is advertising on the web...", huh?
