Greetings!
We currently use ClickTracks to track ad referrals (through the entire site,
not just the target page) and, pretty soon, conversions.
It's interesting - you really do start to see patterns at around one month.
So visitors from AOL will have different buying habits vs. visitors from
Google or MSN, for instance. I can then use this information to push "more
of the same" offers to the front of the site for those referrals. (Careful
categorizing of your ads will help big-time here, and some form of
geotargeting can sometiems help as well.)
Thus far I'm quite pleased with ClickTracks overall. You can tell they
thought very carefully about how to summarize and present the information.
They are very receptive to feedback and appear to be quite nimble in terms
of moving forward with fixes and improvements. I do hope a MacOS X version
is made available down the road. (ClickTracks is currently available for
Win32 platforms - well, maybe I'll just run it within Virtual PC <grin>).
It has quite a pedigree as well. If you've ever used Analog, the web log
analyzer, you may be familiar with the author - Stephen Turner. (He's
ClickTracks' CTO.)
My $0.05. More info as it develops ...
