Is Google deleting sites that use pop-ups?

I am webmaster of a number of different domains and have always found Google
to be an efficient and fair search engine. I've never had any reason to
complain about how my various sites have been ranked by Google. (And I have
*never* indulged in cloaking, stuffing or other dirty tricks.)

Events of the past couple of weeks have changed that. One of my sites has
been entirely deleted from the Google Index, other than for a solitary and
minor page.

I emailed Google by clicking on their "Dissatisfied with your search
results? Help us improve" link, and asking why a page (which ranked very
high on several relevant keyword phrases), and almost all pages of the
particular domain, had been deleted from the index.

No reply, as is Google's stated policy, but the site was returned to the
Google index within a couple of days.... Lovely.... Or so I thought until it
was deleted again 24 hours later....

I repeated the complaint process, was reinstated, and again removed shortly
afterwards....

This has now happened on three occasions, with no explanation or comment
from Google.

I am beginning to come to a rather worrying conclusion.... As I said, this
is the only one of my numerous sites with which I am having trouble with
Google... Coincidentally (???) it is also the only site on which I use a
pop-up window.

I know that Google has long ago announced that it will not allow pop-ups on
its site, but has Google now taken a quantum leap and begun banishing from
its Index sites which use pop-up windows?

If so, does this apply to *all* types of pop-ups, or only certain types?
(Mine is an exit pop-up.)

What are the *recent* experiences of other readers in relation to
pages/sites using pop-ups being deleted from Google's Index?

If this is a new, unpublished policy Google has introduced, it has some very
important consequences for online marketing and advertising.
