Maybe they are doing this because "superlative positioning" is
subjective to time and editorial analyzation. What may be true
one day, could easily be changed the next by a sale or price
changes. They may desire to have their keyword search results
maintain the integrity of time.

I don_t know why they did this, but these are my initial thoughts.
