ETrade can afford to pay $100-$150 per new client. Therefore, people
shouldn't whine that if it takes that much to sell a packet of gum.

Specious reason is pointless and proves nothing. There are many
things that it is not worth $.10 a click to advertise (content, for
example -- it's hard to get $.10 out of a visitor to a content,
non-sales based site... although it's probably easier to get
clicks).
