Sure, there are alot of spam blocking programs out there to deal with what
we don't want. This all seems like a temporary fix though. I get probably 60
or more "spams" a day now. 10 years from now what will that number be then?
Will my computer need to devote 30% of its resources to processing them all?
If the mailman brought me the equivalent number of direct mail pieces to me
and my neighbors, pretty soon they would need to hire more drivers, buy more
trucks. I'd start producing alot more garbage that I would need to dispose
of. This all would cost me a great deal of time trying to deal with it all
on a daily basis. I'd bet my neighbor would not be interested in picking up
my mail for me while I was on vacation either.
I believe the only real answer is to enforce laws about Opt-in email. As
many here may know, Opt-In subscriber lists are really the only way to
successfully get results from an email campaign. Spamming is desperate. Your
Opt-In email address numbers will definitely not be as high as buying the
"200 million email addresses cd-rom" but will be at least 80% more
effective.
The sheer numbers of the internet for some reason have confused people into
thinking that they are doing something wrong if they only have 4000 people
on their lists. It takes time to build up a quality customer base in any
business and is well worth it.
Now back to deleting all the great offers I got today about enlarging my
penis.
