What's missing from all of this any indication of your budget, plus any
indication whether or not you are aware of the clickthrough rates on ads
placed through networks.
If your budget is small, I can't help thinking you might do better and save
money working directly with appropriate sites yourself. Chances are, you or
people in your organization have some idea of where online people gather who
are interested in your mission.
Negotiating directly with those sites, getting press releases out to
appropriate online and offline media, and advertising directly in mailing
lists that are geared to conservationist or others who would be apt to
support you may all prove more valuable and less costly than creating and
placing banners or other advertising through ad agencies. A freelancer or
smaller agency perhaps could create any creative if you don't have your own
staff to do so.
Of course, if budget isn't a major concern, find an agency who's work you
like. But if money is really tight, look for ways to do as much as possible
on your own.
