Loren, brace yourself for some tough advice...
I think CJ's $10 fee is a non-event. It affects only affiliates
who have been unable to make one sale in a six-month period.
If you own several web sites and have them all in your CJ account,
you need to make only one sale across all your sites in six months
to escape the assessment of a $10 fee.
Perhaps the fee could affect someone who is taking a long time to
build a complex site and to be in found in search engines. If so,
all they have to do is buy something through their own affiliate
link once every five and a half months.
All CJ is doing is culling non-performers from its database.
I sympathize with newcomers who are learning how to earn money from
affiliate commissions. I remember how I struggled at first. However,
if you can't earn even one commission in six months, then it's long
past time to find a better technique.
My site has hundreds of pages of advice on that, including case
studies and interviews with successful affiliates.
Hope that helps.
