Not necessarily true. I was once reported to Spam Cop for a post made to an
e-mail list that was most definitely not spam but rather, a viable answer to
another list member's question as part of an ongoing discussion. I
mentioned nothing in the e-mail about my company, other than my sig, which
had always been there.

To boot, when I attempted to contact the offended party, the e-mail bounced
because the address was invalid!

Spam Cop is not infallible. I never use it myself and probably never will.

Excuse me for saying this, but even spammers have families to support. Even
they have to eat and pay rent. Sometimes, it comes down to something as
unappealing as spamming. Had it meant that I would have been able to make
enough money to avoid my family becoming homeless early last year, I would
have spammed anyone and everyone. Spam can be deleted and can even alert
people to new products or services that they may indeed be interested in (if
you carefully qualify your recipients). Starving, homeless children...
well, there's not a whole lot you can do about that.

I'm not saying all spammers fall into such a category; obviously, they
don't. But I support the right of my fellow human beings to do whatever it
takes to feed their families and keep a roof over their heads.

Take care,
Melinda
