Re: Commission Junction's Skimming $10

I'm not surprised by this move. They started charging minimum
fees to affiliate programs a couple of years ago after touting
that there is no monthly minimum fee. We ended up threatening
suit, and they let us out of our contract with a full refund
of all fees paid.

Why didn't we produce enough sales to make it worth it? The
quality of the leads was crap. 80% were fraudulent orders. And
while they brag about 200k+ affiliates (more now), very few
sign up, and very few of those do anything. And when they're
signing up multiple affiliates every day, what site owner can
really keep up? How many are really going to look at all of
the new programs and test?

So with all of this said, why not just terminate affiliates who
do not produce a sale in 6 months?

Why go after them for $10?

It is just going to create a buzz with the "less informed
marketers" (as it is happening here) that not only are they
going to be dropped, but they are going to be sending thugs
to collect $10

Not that they are, of course, but if someone tells you that you
have a debt over your head, many many people will be quite upset.
