Re: Corporate branding and domain names

Whether the site uses the subdomain or subdirectory method
is a matter usability and operational requirements. Most of
that is internal benefits rather than external users
benefits. The branding perspective must include top level
domain name marketing for two main reasons- it's easier for
consumers to remember one name versus two, and it's common
behavior for most users to type URL's in the www.xxx.com
syntax. The TLD doesn't have to be the operational site.
Just have the www.mybrand.com domain forward to your
mybrand.companybrand.com site.
