Hello Marissa & all;
Re: Business Cards & Domain Names
>Most of your web traffic is a result of clicking-links,
>nobody bothers to type domain names...
Last night when o-a came in, I read your post. I hit reply...
and then reminded myself that I'd stayed in the office late to
finish an ad campaign for a client, not to reply to email.
I deleted o-a and got on with my work.
This morning, I could "not" for the life of me remember that
"long" and "more memorable" url. I did, however, remember
Deg.com. I went to your site and saw names of people I
know and respect giving you kudos.
Most of your first time visitors will likely be a result of clicking
on a link. Most of your sales, however, do not come from
first time visitors. We know it takes repeat exposure to make
the sale, yes?
So, if people don't bookmark your site after clicking, you have
to hope the url is memorable. I like to jokingly say that on
the Internet, everyone has A.D.D. We see too much to
remember it all. Deg.com is the name that stuck in my head.
I have not book-marked your site. It would get lost in the
hundreds of bookmarks I have, anyway. (I find lost treasures
in there all the time.) But, I will be back. Deg.com is pretty
easy to remember even for an old timer like me. ; )
