Alana, I'd suggest putting a drop down box on the home page which lets a
visitor select the state that they live in ... this does two things: 1) it's
"interactive" right away ... visitors are more apt to start the process when
the first step is to simply select their state; 2) you now have the visitor
from Arizona searching an "Arizona Dental Directory" instead of a "National
Directory"... this should make the visitor "feel better" about utilizing
your search engine (ie, they aren't searching USA, they are searching only
their state).
