Search Engine Optimization
I've been reading posts for awhile now and I've developed a question
some of you may be able to answer. Basically, my company appears within
the first 30 results on most major search engines, but the majority of
our business is driven in by affiliate sales through commission
junction. One of our affiliates has been unbelievable above the rest
and I can't for the life of me understand exactly what he is doing to be
so successful. His sites are appearing in some very top slots.
The way his site is set up is that he has his own domain (related to my
company's business) and he uses frames in his html to bring the customer
directly to our page while keeping his domain name in the browser
navigation bar. His url set up is like this:
http://hisdomain/sub-folder/
He must have about 100 different subfolders all named different things
(mostly biting off our competitors names) that all link directly to our
site. Is there any advantage in the search engine game in doing this?
A more specific example is http://sporting-shoes.com/nike-footwear. If
that were his url it would display nike's page, giving him credit as an
affiliate for the sale. Any experience with this tactic? Any ideas how
it works? I'd like to duplicate it for my company's site if its
possible?
Thank you for any help
Jason
