URL redirection implications

Hypothetically if I was to do the following - what would happen?
 
I have two URLs -
 
1st URL e.g. ( www.product1.com <http://www.product1.com> ) is a successful,
recognisable URL ranked high on search engines with a good conversion rate.
2nd URL e.g. ( www.product2.com <http://www.product2.com> ) is not yet
launched.
 
I want to change the focus and branding of my company so I decide to change
both URLs for example www.product1.com <http://www.product1.com> to become
www.newproduct1.com <http://www.newproduct1.com> (redirecting to
www.product1.com <http://www.product1.com> ) and product 2 to become
www.newproduct2.com <http://www.newproduct2.com> (redirecting to
www.product2.com <http://www.product2.com> ). But I want to capitalise on
the success of www.product1.com <http://www.product1.com> and change the
focus from product1 to product2 so I switch contents.
 
What will the implications of this be in terms of search engines, branding
and marketing. I know there are experts on this forum so any thoughts would
be appreciated.
