James, we have developed a system which utilizes a third party service
provider which allows us to send an email, an automated voice phone call to
a cell phone and/or office phone as well as a fax to many clients all
instantly and simultaneously (we use the system to send real-time trading
alerts). It's an extremely powerful tool that can be used for many
applications (I use it now as coach for my son's little league (ie, for
emergency weather notices etc...)). We have not yet implemented IM but it's
on the drawing board. If you, or others, would like some insights, drop me
an email off-line. I can show you how to put together a basic package for no
upfront costs. Or, depending on your needs, we may be able to put a premium
system together for you, or if you'd rather, I can just explain the process
so that you can develop a premium version on your own.

Eric
