In House Email Marketing Services

What's our best solution for providing our clients with our own in-house
email marketing services? We are a small online advertising start-up and
looking for the most cost effective solution without incurring to much debt.
Hoping this list can provide some recommendations. We can easily sell 500k
to a 1MM emails to clients a month. If the clients are happy, well everyone
knows this will grow and fast.

1. Delivery software, there seems to be hundreds out there, what's proven
reliable and affordable? (We understand DART rocks, but it's real pricey for
our budget)

2. Hosting solutions, Currently we are using managed hosting for all our
services. We expect this year to bring dedicated servers and hopefully by
the end of the year our own hardware. Is there such thing as a managed
hosting email friendly company, if so where are they hiding?

3. Lists, how do we know we are buying a good list before we buy? We've seen
lists for $.0002 CPM and lists for $20.00 CPM. Whose a good source to start
with?

4. List generation, we've pretty much got that down.

5. And last, Are we better of user a email marketing "managed service"?.
like gotmarketing etc? And if so, what are reasonable rates here?
