Hi
Is there an average for pages viewed per visitor to a site? and then,
is there clasifications?
What am trying to figure here is a formula to calculate unique views of a
certain banner in relation to CPMs served and site pageviews per day.
As our national gatway to intenet goes via a proxy, then providers have
another one, sometimes statistics are not accurate when calculating unique
visitors as different people coming from same ISP within certain time are
usually counted as one user.
In the old good days when WebTrendsLive was free, stats showed we get
avarage 70 K unique visitors a day, now using Urchin, stats show 25k only,
while page views are at the same average (180k daily)
Our site is a website directory, and usually visitors see 4-5 pages looking
for a certain site, while I know sites with forums/mail might get more than
20 pages per visitor, and as I also want to compare with sites that tell
about their page views but not unique visitors.
Besides, if I talk about Alexa.com as a ranking method advertisers are told
by competition that its not a reliable method as it only counts vistors
using alexa bar, and thats less than 5% of net users, and that is not used
as much by Arab users (our site is all in Arabic (Arab Sites Directory -
Raddadi.com)
I would appreciate any comments.
Thanx and all the best
