Re: Blogs - My opinion....
Loren,
It is nice to hear there may be a decent blogging search engine in the works
(you would think Google would have launched a beta by now).
As a blogger for 4 years - I would like to also throw my 2 cents in to the
earlier comment that took the position that search results were being
"clogged" by blogs.
"Blogs can clog a results page for the end-user. And users have a harder
time
trying to find the answer to their queries. "
You can't separate blog web sites from news web sites any more than you can
separate web classified listings from Macy's retail pages. If you are
looking for info on "X" - you get info on X. It is not up to the search
engine to classify the source. Who is to say that the blog smirkingchimp.com
is any less relevant information on Congresswoman McKinney than CNN.com. I
would argue it might be MORE relevant.
I would argue you will find more through following links in these blogs than
you will be reading any news source directly. Bloggers to the research leg
work for you. Next time your results are "clogged" with "blogs" (could be a
song there in the works) - take some time to check out what the community is
saying. You might actually learn something.
