Who do you trust ???
Trust nobody of course. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one
out.
I recommend using Google Adwords. Adwords is a pay-per-click model of search
engine that runs parallel to the regular Google search engine (that is, the
pay-per-click ads literally appear on the same results page as regular
Google search engine results, along the side of the page.) Google has a
facility for you to see what keyword phrases are being entered by users, and
you develop your own set of keyword phrases that optimize your response
rate. You supply a minimum bid that you are willing to pay for a
click-through by a user on each keyword phrase. Remember, you must not only
generate click throughs, but you must convert a certain number of click
throughs to sales, or you will deplete your advertising budget for the
month. Google has such a large number of users that you can very quickly and
reliably tailer and optimize your site title, description, and keywords for
optimum click through and conversion rate. You must try to find keywords
that are effective but not real expensive - seven to ten cents per click is
about the maximum you want to bid on clicks. Some phrases have already been
bid up to 50 cents per click, and more. For about fifty dollars a month, you
can generate a large number of clicks to your site.
Once you have found out what key phrases and advertising copy actually
attracts the users you need, then submit your site to be added to the actual
regular Google search engine. Google doesn't seem to revisit sites very
often from what I can see, so it is best to have your site defined the way
you want it before you submit.
