It really depends on what your objectives are in attending.
If your objective is to network with industry players, make
deals, form alliances, take the pulse of the industry, and
check out offerings, then I'd say AD:TECH is the place to
be. The next AD:TECH is in New York this November,

If the objective is more focused on learning how to be
an Internet marketer, then the Internet Marketing Conferences
seem to be a very good forum. The last one was in Montreal
this past May... I don't know when the next one will be.

If you want to focus on eMetrics... learning how people
are measuring the productivity of their online efforts,
then Jim Sterne's eMetrics Summit each June in Santa
Barbara is absolutely first class, both in terms of
learning opportunities, networking, and locale.

Jupitermedia/Internet.com has a variety of events
on specific Internet marketing topics. The ClickZ
Advertising Forum is coming up July 30-31. See:

The Internet World conferences tend to be the largest
and offer a spectrum of content for both those that want
to learn and those that want to network. The next event
is this coming December.

There is a DMA/AIM net.marketing conference. The last one was
in May. http://www.the-dma.org/dmanetmarketing/index.shtml
The 4th Internet Affiliate Marketing Summit is a cruise-based
Summit being planned for next April spanning Miami, Key West,
and Cozumel, Mexico. See:

Frost & Sullivan has a Strategic Internet Marketing Conference
this August in Kuala Lumpur.

Thunder Lizard's conference offerings are significantly
reduced from earlier years, but their web design
conference is still ongoing and has sections on web strategy
and web usability. Thunder Lizard's ownership has changed hands
since my last experiences with them. In the past, events were
always quite strong on delivering useful content. Their next
event is at the end of July.

If you are unable to travel to or afford attending one of these
events, then check out Ralph Wilson's economical Webinar series,
where you register for a series of hour long sessions delivered
via audio, video and powerpoint over the web. Ralph is a true
champion of the online marketer that wants to achieve more with
modest resources. http://www.wilsonweb.com/webinar/
I have direct experience with many of these events--I have
attended and presented sessions at AD:TECH, Internet World,
Internet World Canada, Thunder Lizard and the Internet Marketing
Conference (one of which I also had the pleasure of keynoting).
I've also attended both of the eMetrics summits. I've never
been to any of the Jupitermedia, DMA, Frost & Sullivan, or
Affiliate Marketing Summits, so I have no direct experience with
those venues.
As an experiment, I registered this list as an affiliate of the
Internet Affiliate Marketing Summit, so if you click-through on
the above link and register for the cruise/summit, then $30.00 will
go towards the care and feeding of the operation of this list. I'll
report back to readers if any significant results are realized.
