Recruiting people from abroad?

This week's TIME magazine has a lengthy article on this topic. They
make the case that American companies have no need to import workers
from India because it's much easier to simply hire people in India
and let them work where they are. Programmers, customer service and
other types of jobs remain inexpensive to American companies only as
long as the employees' costs of living remain low. Typically, this
means the comparable Indian wage is about 10% to 20% of what his
American counterpart earns.

Add to the fact that there is a growing political anger about
American companies "exporting jobs" and you can see the problems
mounting.
