I once read an article (although I can't seem to find it) that
suggested that the way Hindi is structured as a language gives
native speakers a leg up when it comes to computer programming.
Somehow it is the most comparable spoken language to most
computer languages. English is much farther down on the list.

If this is the case, it is quite possible that India will surpass
the US in programming population. With all of that fiber
starting to be lit, the connectivity in Asia is quickly becoming
very widespread and available. With the adoption of IPv6 there
will be enough addresses to support the entire region a hundred
times over. I think the days of US domination in this area are
coming to an end.
