Re: Ad rates gone south but attitudes still in the north pole
Regarding ad rates and testing ... I have found that if I can test about
100,000 impressions I'll have a fair enough level of stats to determine
whether the site is a good fit for my campaign. It is generally impossible
to get a site to do this level of a test. However, some will allow a test of
$1,000 buy for the month with the distribution equally set over 30 days and
with a 1, 2 or 3 day out clause. With this provision in hand, one can then
terminate the test if the stats don't support continuation (and only be out
of few hundred dollars). Furthermore, because I am at least willing to test
at the $1,000 level, sometimes I will find that the folks on the other end
will help me find a better fit on their site (or even another one of their
sites) that work better for my ad ... I guess once they feel more
comfortable with me as a new advertiser they start working a litte to keep
me.
If any one on this list represents stock market related websites and thinks
my sites would be a good fit, please contact me ... I am ALWAYS looking for
new sites to advertise on.
Eric
