I doubt they are asking for this , as you put it, to "protect
themselves" , and it sounds like a rather rather presumptive conclusion.
Have you no respect for the fact that most vendors do not wish to be
 abused by list owners that take no precautions and apply their trade
carelessly? please make me understand, thanks
