The quarantined advertisers

Using the PPC tool on Google or Overture
means to show your ad terms apart from the regular search
results. Google shows your ads on the right, Overture shows
you on top of Yahoo, under the "sponsors warning" title.

The general idea is "hey, watch out, these are advertisers,
they're here to grab your cash!". The quarantined advertisers.
Isn't it some kind of hypocrisy?

Many of the search results shown on Yahoo (Overture) for
example, are websites that paid (big) money to get there.
Whether through paid inclusion, or through expensive,
professional site optimization. Their presence on top is not
a result of some objective choice, but the result of ad
investment. Is it really different from the PPC advertisers?

In some way it's even funny... The PPC advertisers MUST face
pretty severe regulations and rules to show on top of the
lists, like high relevance, good phrasing, non ad oriented
wording, etc. A "legitimate" website that paid huge cash
for optimization or inclusion can write... "I'm the best, I'm
the leader, I'm the greatest..." and no one will ever put it
in quarantine.

What do you think about that?

Thanks
Joseph
