MODERATOR NOTE: AD:TECH / Dead Web Content
Hey gang,
I'm at AD:TECH today in New York and the event is really
charged. They are estimating 5,000 people will go through
the exhibits, with more than 120 companies exhibiting.
The exhibit crowd seems bigger than the one that was in
San Francisco this past June (they estimated 4000 there),
but the attendance at the conference sessions themselves
seems slightly lower.
A nice surprise today was that an interview I did with the
Associated Press came out today on managing dead web content.
While it just included a short quote from me, CNN picked up the
story as did many of the newspapers around the world,
so it is getting pretty extensive exposure. An email came in from
someone I had not seen in 26 years telling me that he had seen
the story. Subscriptions to my newsletter that talks about
building more valuable companies (referenced in the article) are
coming in at record levels.
Internet littered with abandoned sites
