How to Ask for Special Advertising Deals?
Hi,
While we continue to hope and pray that someone can be found to quickly
redesign our website, we've been exploring possible advertising arrangements.
The best option, by far, is advertising on dating sites, but there aren't
many that accept advertising and the two we've contacted obviously don't
want to give us any breaks (and also never even bothered to confirm our
belief that they want thousands per month). I understand that dating sites
exist primarily to make money, but brief attempts to persuade them that an
association with an image consulting firm could improve lovelorn men's
satisfaction (and, by extension, their bottom line) haven't gotten anywhere.
Plus, how hard could it be for them to create an extra advertising slot and
thus not lose potential revenue?
In the future, I personally will try to explain to dating sites that this
relatively new business only seeks a short-term experiment and that we
probably could later make a long-term commitment to normal rates, if the
target audience proved quite receptive. Beyond that, what can be said to
make these sites cooperative? Is there any way to take things to whoever
owns the sites, rather than heads of marketing?
