Dear Divya,

My experience suggests that when customization is needed either:

1) You buy quite expensive platforms that have the possibility to customize
reports and integrate data sources (but then you easily run into the ten of
thousands US$)

2) You hire an analyst that can derive most of these customized reports with
some simpler statistical/database analysis package. For instance, this
summer I have run a basic visitor analysis and then a more complex cluster
analysis on some huge logfile (here we are talking of more than 100 GB - yes
gigabytes - of logfile data processed!!!) by simply using SPSS, and finally
charging my customer probably less than half the price of the least
expensive software that would allow her to run such analysis by herself
(without considering the hassle caused by the fact that basically need a
quite fast didicated machine to run such an analysis in a decent time
frame...)
