Log Analyzing Softwares

log analyzing softrware:

Here is some information regarding two available products:

1. Webtrends by NETIQ corporation: This company has been producing log
analyzing software since 1993. Our small company started using the
Webtrends Log Analyzer in 1996. A couple of years later, they produced a
version that had more function but had ran slower. We changed to another
product. About 2000 they introduced a version that was faster and could
import the reports to an Excel spread sheet. The spread sheet gave us the
ability to create the special reports we needed.

Now NETIQ has three levels of log analysis software. They have added a lot
of sophistication to the products. It should be very worthwhile to study
their capabilities. (All of their software is fee based.)

2. Analog is another good product. It was written in the UK, all coded in
C (or some version of C), and is free. It is written to be modifiable.
