Securing website sponsorship / advertising
I've been running a street basketball website for some 4 years now
(www.streetball.co.uk).
During that time it has grown and grown and is now Europe's most popular
streetball site - attracting between 2,000 and 5,000 unique users a day
and racking up around 30,000 page impressions a day (sometimes as many
as 50,000 a day).
The core audience is young men (between about 13 and 25) with a keen
interest in sports and, generally, hip hop music and culture.
I now think the site is at a stage where I can start approaching
companies regarding sponsorship of the site or advertising.
Not only do we get a fair amount of traffic, advertisers would know
exactly who they are targetting. Therefore, pension providers or the
like would know not to advertise with us. However, computer games
manufacturers, sports brands, soft drinks companies etc would be
reaching exactly the types of people they're aiming for. Also, this age
group has a lot of "money to burn".
I'd be grateful for people's opinions on how I might go about getting
such sponsorship / advertising and what sort of figures I should be
looking at.
Thanks
Greg Tanner
