Re: Marketing Through Associations
Dear Ryan,
We have had some luck marketing an eccommerce product through a few
associations. The product is a compensation product that helps employers
better understand what they should pay their employees. We discount the
product to the association and they usually pass that discount on to their
membership. With one group we provided a promotional code that they emailed
to their members allowing for one free report. This seems to be a good way
to promote sales since their members get to try the product risk free, than
they usually buy a few more reports. We have found that Associations are
looking for a discount or some differentiating factor that they can pass on
to their members. As a vendor I have no problem with discounts or other
incentives, but the trade off is that the Association must be willing to put
their marketing power behind the products to market them to their members.
Some associations are better at this than others.
